For over 70 years, Wehkamp has been the online department store for Dutch families. A trusted brand that continually looks forward. That’s why it was time for its own sound, based on the new brand strategy. A coral red sound with a rebellious touch.
Why should you develop a musical identity as a brand?
I think it’s just like asking why you need a logo. Because ultimately you want to stand out and be different from the rest. That’s why we decided with Wehkamp’s new brand strategy, that it was time to provide the brand with its own sound.
How is Wehkamp put into sound?
Wehkamp now sounds completely up-to-date again. It fits very well with our new brand strategy that we’ve established, with which we really want to show that Wehkamp not only has a 71-year history, but also looks very much to the future. And I think you can really hear that in our current sound, which is both new and familiar. Authentic and of this time.

How did the creation process go?
The creative process was truly amazing. A beautiful joint journey of discovery, where we explored a rollercoaster of possibilities. To finally arrive at that one distinctive sound. A recognizable sound capable of giving the brand a new but familiar face.
Where will we hear your brand sound?
Wehkamp’s target audience will encounter our new sound everywhere. In radio commercials, videos on YouTube, and of course on television. But we’re also thinking about cinema advertising. Or consider the app opening or during checkout. The musical identity offers a lot of possibilities in that regard.
