The Reinier de Graaf hospital helps people stay healthy for as long as possible and aims to prevent diseases. Therefore, Reinier focuses on collaboration, prevention and life course medicine. Reinier positions itself as ‘Your hospital for life’, and a musical identity is part of that.

Why has the Reinier de Graaf Hospital invested in a musical identity?

Reinier de Graaf is a special hospital. A nice place to work, stay and a pioneer in many respects. We convey this in all our communication. And a musical interpretation fits in with that. Music connects, delights and ensures recognisability. We see our musical identity as an extension of our brand. That was our goal and we have succeeded well!

Many employees were involved to create support. How did you organise that?

The group of involved colleagues consisted of a cross-section of the hospital. United by their love for music. The core team consisted of about 30 musical employees who were involved in every step of the process. And at decisive moments, such as selecting the final version of our tune, the entire hospital could participate online. Finally, our ‘house band’ recorded the track live. Maximum participation, with TAMBR supporting us well.

How has the special nature of Reinier been translated into music? What values do we hear?

Reinier de Graaf is a very light, open and spacious hospital. Therefore, we sound very transparent, without too many complex layers. A warm, flowing composition played by acoustic instruments. The human contribution is clearly audible as we have recorded the tune ourselves.
